New Delhi: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was admitted to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital on Monday evening for dental treatment, according to an official statement released by his office. The sudden hospital visit comes at a highly sensitive time as tensions continue to rise across the Middle East amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran and Israel.
Officials confirmed that Netanyahu was undergoing medical treatment related to a dental procedure, though no detailed information was shared regarding the exact nature of the treatment or how long he would remain under medical supervision.
Netanyahu’s hospitalisation has once again brought public attention to his health condition, especially after recent speculation and rumours regarding serious medical issues.
Earlier this month, during a court hearing linked to a defamation case, Netanyahu publicly addressed concerns surrounding his health. He firmly rejected claims suggesting that he was critically ill and dismissed reports alleging that he was suffering from pancreatic cancer.
During the hearing, Netanyahu told the court that his health condition was “excellent.” In a lighter moment, he joked that if he truly had pancreatic cancer, he would not have been standing in court.
The Israeli Prime Minister also stated that he regularly exercises, undergoes routine medical check-ups and follows doctors’ advice carefully. According to him, his recent medical reports had shown normal results.
The testimony took place before Judge Menachem Mizrahi at the Ramle Magistrate’s Court. However, due to security concerns, the hearing was shifted to the Tel Aviv District Court building.
The session reportedly lasted only around 30 minutes because Netanyahu had to attend another official engagement later that day. Court officials later confirmed that another date would be scheduled for the continuation of his testimony.
During the hearing, Netanyahu also discussed parts of his past medical history. He revealed that he had been dealing with an enlarged prostate condition for several years, though doctors had assured him it was not life-threatening.
He further stated that he had already undergone surgery to address the issue. Netanyahu also disclosed that during a routine medical check-up in late 2025, doctors detected an early stage of prostate cancer.
According to the Israeli leader, the condition was identified in time and is currently under control.
Netanyahu’s latest hospital visit has gained major attention because it comes during one of the most politically and militarily sensitive periods for Israel. The country remains deeply involved in regional tensions connected to Iran, while security concerns across the Middle East continue to intensify.
Although officials insist the hospitalisation is only related to dental treatment, the development has once again sparked debate and speculation surrounding Netanyahu’s overall health and ability to lead during a critical geopolitical crisis.
